When Life Throws You a Split: A Glamorous Fall Before Talking Vaccines

Oh, the things we go through behind the scenes! Yesterday, I was invited to speak about vaccine safety and effectiveness on video—a deeply passionate topic. But first, you know me by now—I don’t joke about my glam sessions! My makeup artist (MUA) was working her magic, making sure I was camera-ready.

As we were about to snap some behind-the-scenes shots, she playfully said, “Dr. Agnes, your legs need some lotion!” I was already running late for my studio time, and as I dashed upstairs to quickly lotion my legs, then… the moment of comedy gold, the unexpected happened.

And then, in a twist of fate, the unexpected happened. I slipped! One leg flew forward, the other backward, and I landed in what I can only describe as an almost full-on split. My left leg stretched back, my right leg shot forward, and there I was on the floor! OOUCH!! It was a moment that none of us saw coming, adding a touch of surprise to the day. My MUA felt so bad, rushing to help me, but we couldn’t stop laughing. Tears of laughter, people! But like the queen I am, I showed resilience. I stood up, adjusted my skirt, fixed my hair, and strutted like nothing happened. The show must go on, right? I made it to the studio and nailed my interview, discussing the latest vaccine safety and effectiveness The rest, as they say, is history. This incident was a testament to our resilience, inspiring me to keep going despite the unexpected setbacks.

As I reflect on that day, I’m filled with gratitude. There were no fractures or torn ligaments—just a hilarious memory and a thankful heart. It’s these little miracles that remind me how blessed I am. Looking at the final pictures, you’d never guess I had just taken an epic tumble, and moments like these also made me think about life. We often see the polished, perfect images people present, but we rarely know the struggles behind them. Let’s be kind to one another—it’s a simple act that can make a difference. You never know what someone is going through behind their smile or flawless photo. This incident reinforced the importance of empathy and kindness in our interactions.

And remember, it’s not how hard or how often we fall that defines us, but how we rise each time and keep pushing forward on our journey.

Wishing everyone a weekend where the only things falling are snowflakes, not you! Remember, it’s not how hard or how often we fall that defines us, but how we rise each time and keep pushing forward on our journey. So, stay safe, stay joyful, and keep shining! And let’s all strive to be a little kinder and more empathetic in our interactions.
