Let me describe my Saturday night escapades for you! I was honoured with an invite to a festive 50th birthday party. I was looking forward to celebrating with colleagues and friends because my last outing was my sister’s birthday in Virginia, so it had been a while. I did my best to match the evening’s purple colour scheme with my outfit selection.
Now, don’t judge a book by its cover. Although the celebrations were fun, I’ll confess that the preparation process was not my favourite. Coordinating my attire, headgear, accessories, hair, and makeup took much work, and adhering to the theme can be draining. But you can’t have it both ways, they say: no pain, no gain.
A great mood waited for me when I arrived at the event centre. The music was just right, the setting was charming, the company was just right (known and new faces), and the food was delicious. The evening was a joyous celebration of life and wellness.
Looking back on the evening, I see how crucial it is to connect with others to relax after a hectic week. They say all work and no play make Jack a dull boy. Recharging one’s energy is essential, and I can’t overstate its beneficial effect on concentrating and planning for the next week.
Have you had a good weekend? The hues and patterns as vivid as mine? Did you indulge in some party time like me? In the end, despite having a fantastic time, I looked forward to coming home, slipping into my favourite pyjamas, and sipping a mug of hot chocolate. I wish you a tremendous and productive week!
Yours Sincerely,
Dr Agnes Chinelo
